Scanning the shores

12/18/2009

Old man walking
on a cold windswept beach
lonely, with metal detector in hand
the pipers and gulls squak
shared companinons, looking for scraps
a treasured find, a bite to eat
solace found in the unknown of hope
an ancient debloon of friendship
may work its way up through the sands of time

  1. Nice sketch! Valuables aside, what do you suppose beachcombers do with all the bits of other people’s history they must find?

Joseph, I’m sure the pawn shops are full of those collected items. Either that or kept as a part of lonely stories.
