Rain in New York

finally, a break in the gray New York clouds
sun’s rays cutting the slushy summer’s silence
dog chains rattling with paws clicking cement
strollers crackle in front of proud parents
a ball bounces loudly, keeping the rain at bay
momentary life germinates in fertile city streets
then just as suddenly, the noise dissipates
replaced again with the veil of blowing branches
drumming murmur of drops on the exposed air conditioner
city apartments’ white noise which seems to never stop

Poetry is better than any photograph. You get more sensory stimluation – and in this case, particularly stimulation through sound. rattling/clicking/crackle/loudly/blowing/murmur…

And the moment is made immortal.
